Excuse Meee For Being So Ignorant Posted at 11:56 PM While traveling along EDSA on my way home from work this morning, I chanced upon several sets of tarpaulin streamers showing some of ABC Channel 5's TV programs. One show that I noticed in particular was the one featuring Che Che Lazaro for The Probe Team. The moment that the program registered in my sleep-deprived mind that it was indeed THE PROBE TEAM, I asked myself, "whatever happened to The Probe Team after it was axed from GMA 7 last year?" Since I haven't watched TV for a very looong time, it was just surprising for me to learn that ABC Channel 5 has been airing the said TV program, considering the fact that ABS-CBN Channel 2 showed a lot of interest in acquiring the rights to air it back when news of the upcoming split from it's mother channel of 16 years was imminent. Surely, there were offers and counter-offers that was done in the process of finding The Probe Team a new home. I just can't believe that ABS-CBN Channel 2 would just let the chance to air the said TV program go to ABC Channel 5, again... considering the fact that the said channel is such a shark when it comes to getting a huge chunk of the audience share for their programs AND getting an equally huge amount of money for its owners and investors. After all, The Probe Team has always equated journalism with fearless investigation and has received countless awards and citations (both national and international) to prove that they are one of the best in the field... or THE best in the field. I'm also pretty sure that they have their fair share (or a large share of the pie) of loyal viewership to catch the attention of commercial TV stations to seriously consider them as a good investment. Don't mind me folks, I'm just thinking out loud.  16 Angels Remembered

Na-miss ko na nga ring manood ng The Probe Team. Well, na-miss ko nang manood ng TV in general... lalo na ang MTV and the English TV series ng Studio 23 and RPN 9. *sigh*
Tama ka, almost 17 years na ang The Probe Team. They stayed with GMA Channel 7 for 16 [freakin'] years (that was until last year) and then this year with ABC Channel 5. :-)
Speaking of teleseryes, hindi ako nanonood ng mga yun... sooo "victim" ang plot ng lahat. :P

Tama ka, sana manood na lang sila ng ibang shows na mas makabuluhan... kaso may sociological explanation at social value din naman kase yung pag-sikat ng teleseryes dito sa Pilipinas e. It's too long na nga lang to elaborate dito... pero matalino ka naman e, research ka na lang. Hehehe! ;-)

i'm not so knowledgeable about the probe team, its content, and its recognition. but if it is as you say, there's probably got to be something underlying that made abs-cbn back down on the probe team.
like you said, i don't think abs-cbn would just let abc win like that. i'm sure abs-cbn has much more allotable resources (financial and otherwise) for getting the probe team in their lineup.
or maybe they just couldn't find a decent timeslot for the show amongst all the teleseryes and comedy-variety shows. :P

Kung iisipin natin yung probable angle about finding the right time slot for The Probe Team kung nasa ABS-CBN na 'to, parang malabo... kase the channel is also infamous for axing TV shows na nagsisimula pa lang bumaba ang ratings, kahit hindi pa mismo natatalo sa ratings war with the rival TV programs from other channels. ;-)
